Press Release-Cornerstone Garden

Formally My Secret Garden Blooms Again as

Cornerstone Garden by DianaDigsDirt

DianaDigsDirt, a professional landscape designer opens a new Greensboro

Garden Boutique April 30th, 2011 from 9am-7pm at 414-B State Street

The Greenboro resident, Diana Gardner-Williams of DianaDigsDirt has offered landscape consultations, design and installations to Triad area residents for over 13 years. She also schedules speaking engagements on the topics of memory gardens, drought-tolerate and deer resistant landscaping, green wedding design and other outdoor living ideas. Over 170 articles are located on her blog of 3 years, where comments are welcome and questions are answered. Diana stated, “Having a professional landscape designer fully explain the pros and cons of every plant will save the community dollars they can spend elsewhere. There are many plant properties other than just looking pretty and most serve a purpose.”

Cornerstone Garden shares an office with Andrea Halsey Photography, clearly delineated by quaint wooden signs within the garden. Most of the outdoor vignettes and water features were created from materials left behind from the former owner. The interior spaces were designed by utilizing roadside finds, thrift store bargains and everything salvaged from the outdoors. Local artisans will be offered space to sell artwork on a monthly basis; therefore, inventory will constantly change. Other products and services offered will include; plants, “green” sympathy and gift baskets, awareness garden flags and on-site workshops.

We invite the public to enjoy Cornerstone Garden within one of the several seating areas to chat, shop, or greenthumb through a large variety of gardening and landscape literature. Hours of operation, specials and workshops will be noted on the blog of, Cornerstone Garden page.

Diana Digs My Secret Garden-3

414 State Street, formally known as, “My Secret Garden”.

A beautiful weekend to work on State Street. Much was accomplished like tilling the front terrace and removing unwanted plants.

4×4 caps were placed on the posts for iron fence, where pots will be installed later.

Every inch of this location will be taken advantage of. Cracks in the sidewalk, stairs and wall will be planted with crevice plants (not weeds).

Several cascading plants will adorn the brick wall and bloom at various times of the year. Bulbs, annuals and perennials will add to the splendor. There will be a few spots open for people to sit as well.

Needed a nice entryway planter filled with perennials, sedum, annuals and the grass on top is called Amazon Mist.

2 “Burgundy Cotton” Crape Myrtles were installed by the fence.

The project was supervised by my son.

We are getting there and hope to have our Grand Opening April 30th (after our April 16th event), just in time for Mothers Day plants, gifts baskets and more!

 Happy Planting!
