Help with Plant Identification

23 Jun

I need some help identifying a few plants on my property. I have searched for days on the internet and thumbing through my reference books and found nothing.

Here are some facts:

  • grows in the shade
  • native
  • look like groundcovers
  • zone 7

This is the first and found alongside our creek and looks like a groundcover, deciduous

This one has a heart-shaped leaf with variegation

Next, is similar to the above plant. I am thinking maybe a viola.

This low plant is fabulous and the flower is incredibly unique.

This leaves are stiff and maybe an evergreen

Let me know what these treasures are if you think you have a clue.

Happy Planting!

The second to last one looks like Indian Pipe. And maybe a pipsissewa next to it….
